Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatments and assist dentists during procedures
- Sterilize instruments and maintain immaculate operatory hygiene
- Take dental X-rays and perform preliminary patient assessments
- Manage patient scheduling and digital charting (Epic software)
- Process insurance claims and handle front desk duties
- Train new assistants and implement infection control protocols
- Coordinate with specialists for complex treatment plans
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or DANB certification required
- 2+ years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in digital imaging and practice management software
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Strong attention to detail and HIPAA compliance knowledge
