Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and managing supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to strict aseptic techniques
- Handle surgical specimens and documentation protocols accurately
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Inventory and sterilize equipment per hospital standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification and current California state license
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
