Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff immediately.
- Transport patients safely to and from the operating room.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Document patient records and surgical procedures accurately and legibly.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or CAAHP required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the AHA required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
