Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all specialties
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and hemostasis
- Maintain sterile environment and enforce OR protocols
- Manage inventory and sterilization processes per AORN standards
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case flow
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of acute care OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification with current AHA certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to cover various surgical specialties
