Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical department
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor inventory levels
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, or neurosurgery preferred
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Ability to stand 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Proficiency in sterile processing protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
