Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize patient cases based on medical necessity
- Document patient interactions accurately in EMR systems with 99% precision
- Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance
- Manage high-volume call queues with average 15-second response time
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance during all patient communications
- Train new triage staff on department protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with minimum 2 years ER experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in Epic EMR and electronic documentation systems
- Exceptional critical thinking under pressure
- Spanish bilingual certification strongly preferred
- Experience with telehealth triage platforms
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- BSN degree or higher (ADN candidates with 5+ years ER experience considered)
