Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory levels and order surgical supplies
- Document procedural information and maintain equipment logs
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing and anesthesia teams
- Train new surgical techs on department protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in orthopedic/neurosurgery
- BLS certification required
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Valid California surgical tech license
