Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgeries
- Handle sterilization, decontamination, and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain inventory of supplies
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams for seamless operations
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Valid Texas Surgical Tech license (if applicable)
