Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and equipment functionality throughout operations
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials following OSHA protocols
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesiologists to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
