Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical environments and equipment according to OSHA standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain accurate instrument counts and sterile field integrity
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization protocols
- Document perioperative procedures in electronic health records
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Background check and drug screening required
