Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and document sponges, needles, and instruments before/during/after surgery
- Position patients and adjust equipment for optimal surgical access
- Manage sterile supply inventory and restock operating rooms
- Transport specimens to pathology for analysis
- Adhere to OSHA and facility-specific safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent operating room experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid Texas driver's license
