Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with advanced surgical equipment and sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Operate specialized equipment including endoscopic cameras, robotic systems, and sterilization devices
- Perform count and documentation of surgical instruments and supplies
- Maintain equipment calibration and troubleshoot technical issues intra-operatively
- Coordinate with sterile processing to ensure equipment readiness
- Train on new surgical technologies as implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in OR setting
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and general surgical procedures
- Proficiency with advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopy)
- BLS certification; preferred: CNOR or surgical specialty certification
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues during critical procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and sterile technique adherence
