Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce safety protocols throughout operations
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with care
- Inventory and restock surgical supplies in sterile processing areas
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of experience in acute care surgical setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy and terminology
- Current BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Pass background check and drug screening
