Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Inventory and manage surgical equipment inventory
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic records
- Train junior staff on sterile techniques and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization methods
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- BLS/CPR certification (current)
- Experience with major surgical specialties preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced emergency situations
