Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment according to procedure specifications
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide intraoperative support
- Perform sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
- Document surgical counts and supply inventory accurately
- Adhere to OSHA and infection control protocols
- Train junior staff on surgical procedures and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- BLS certification with current renewal date
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover varied surgical schedules
