Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Count and account for all surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Ensure operating rooms are fully stocked, clean, and ready for next case turnover
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical inventory and equipment usage
- Adhere to strict OSHA and hospital safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital OR experience
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency in sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
