Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile field integrity throughout operations
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate specialized surgical equipment (e.g., endoscopic cameras)
- Document case details in electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends/on-call shifts
