Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and supplies and ensuring sterile environment.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to maintain safety standards.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including sterilizing incision sites and draping the patient.
- Handle and care for surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid state licensure and background check clearance.
