Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during various surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange necessary instruments and sutures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure zero discrepancies.
- Monitor and respond to patient needs and surgeon requests during procedures.
- Document patient medical history and surgical procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification (NCCT or CAAHEP preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
