Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain and monitor strict aseptic techniques throughout surgical interventions.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure safety and prevent retained items.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them and washing incision sites.
- Document patient medical histories and surgical procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and sterilization protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as needed.
