Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms and sterilize equipment and instruments before and after surgeries.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vitals and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and logs of instruments used.
- Inventory Management: Manage stock levels of supplies and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all hospital infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an operating room setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift medical equipment as needed.
