Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies, anticipating their needs with precision.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to aseptic techniques throughout the surgical process.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse or surgeon immediately.
- Handle and transport surgical specimens accurately to the pathology department.
- Properly clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
- Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical anatomy, procedures, and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong manual dexterity and the ability to stand for extended periods.
