Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile field integrity throughout operations
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms with proper safety measures
- Document surgical counts and equipment inventory accurately
- Operate autoclaves and sterilization equipment
- Collaborate with nursing and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
- Certification eligible (CST) through NBSTSA
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to maintaining sterile environments
