Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies promptly.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to maintain accurate records.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the surgical team immediately.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room with the highest level of care and safety.
- Ensure the operating room is clean, organized, and stocked according to hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- No prior experience required – We provide on-the-job training for qualified candidates.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
