Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Apply sterile drapes and gowns to patients and surgeons.
- Handle patient positioning and skin preparation with the utmost care.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a high-pressure environment.
