Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures with instrument and supply management
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain sterile environments
- Count and track surgical instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between operating rooms and recovery areas
- Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with sterile processing team on instrument maintenance and inventory
- Adhere to OSHA and AORN safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Must pass background check and pre-employment health screening
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (training provided)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to completing paid training program (8-12 weeks)
