Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage using standardized protocols
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems
- Collaborate with physicians to determine patient priority levels
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding care pathways
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in all communications
- Participate in quarterly emergency simulation drills
- Support ED staff during patient overflow situations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Recent nursing graduate or career-changer with <2 years experience
- Basic ECG interpretation skills
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Proficient with electronic health record systems
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
