Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing
- Assist in compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- PTB or ExCPT certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience (retail or hospital setting)
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
