Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory with precision and efficiency
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize surgical workflow
- Maintain equipment functionality and troubleshoot technical issues
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of perioperative experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and surgical procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid BLS certification
- Flexibility to accommodate on-call and weekend rotations
