Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical equipment per OSHA standards
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate inventory records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a Level I trauma center
- Expertise in multiple surgical specialties (orthopedic, neuro, general)
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
