Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and count supplies before/after surgery
- Monitor patient vital signs and equipment functionality throughout procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols and infection control
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Oregon state license
- Experience with robotic surgery systems preferred
