Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and implement infection control protocols
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate specialized surgical equipment (endoscopes, power tools, etc.)
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedure details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic documentation systems (EPIC preferred)
