Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and equipment before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis with precise protocols
- Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical equipment following OSHA standards
- Monitor inventory and order surgical supplies to ensure operational readiness
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and equipment
