Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical cases
- Handle and sterilize instruments/equipment using advanced sterilization systems
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage inventory and restock surgical supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Graduation from accredited surgical technology program
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ST79)
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery systems a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including call rotations
- Strong attention to detail and physical stamina for prolonged procedures
