Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and inventory surgical supplies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and sterile processing protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case transitions
- Manage biohazard waste disposal and instrument processing
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of scrub tech experience in Level I trauma center
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery systems (da Vinci)
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI ST79)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Strong attention to detail and crisis management skills
