Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before/during/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and provide post-operative care
- Operate surgical equipment including sterilizers and endoscopic devices
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain inventory records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
