Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications before surgery.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate sterile counts.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and sponges to surgeons.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to strict sterile field protocols and aseptic technique.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including proper draping and positioning.
- Monitor and handle surgical specimens as directed by the surgeon.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the surgical suite.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of standing for extended periods.
