Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and arranging sterile instruments.
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical interventions and monitor for breaks in sterile technique.
- Handle surgical specimens accurately and assist with patient positioning and skin prep.
- Monitor and document patient vitals and intraoperative data accurately.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow during operations.
- Respond to emergency situations within the operating room with composure and speed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical anatomy, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
