Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room, ensuring that surgical procedures are carried out smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile drapes, instruments, and supplies.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain the sterile field.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures with precision.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of sterile field.
- Monitor and adjust room conditions to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
- Document procedures and patient information accurately.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
