Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterilization standards
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Transport patients and specimens safely within surgical areas
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain electronic records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in Level I trauma center
- Experience in orthopedic, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures preferred
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover on-call shifts and overtime as needed
