Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Monitor the sterile field during surgery and intervene if necessary to prevent complications.
- Ensure patient safety by strictly adhering to aseptic technique and sterile procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate counts before and after procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification eligible (CST/NCCT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile field protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Valid California state licensure and registration.
