Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count and track surgical instruments and supplies before/after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between departments safely
- Inventory and sterilize reusable surgical equipment
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent preferred but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and precision in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
- Valid BLS/CPR certification (training provided if needed)
- Pass background check and drug screening
