Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Ensure proper handling and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain inventory records
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical department
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on surgical technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Current BLS certification required (will be provided if not held)
