Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Account for surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before/during/after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely between departments
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior experience necessary - comprehensive training provided
- Completion of Surgical Technology program preferred but not mandatory
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Valid CPR certification (will be provided if needed)
- Must pass background check and pre-employment health screening
