Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sutures, anticipating their needs for efficiency.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and anesthesia reactions, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Arrange equipment and supplies, ensuring accuracy and readiness for complex surgical cases.
- Assist in the cleanup and turnover of the operating room between cases.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications must be current.
