Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, equipment, and drapes before surgery.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and skin preparation.
- Monitor the sterile field and ensure patient safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Monitor and care for patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification from a nationally recognized program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients or equipment as required.
