Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up sterile fields, and arranging instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining sterile environments
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to ensure nothing is left inside patients
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain instrument processing logs
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock operating rooms
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Commitment to completing 16-week paid training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (will be provided during training)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
