Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile instruments for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis with precision
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in general OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
