Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies, anticipating the surgeon's needs.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, strictly adhering to aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Handle specimen processing and transport with the utmost care and accuracy.
- Monitor and manage operating room supplies, restocking inventory as needed to prevent interruptions during surgeries.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including nurses and physicians, to ensure seamless operations.
- Document patient care activities and surgical procedures accurately in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical First Assistant (SFA) certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Commitment to remote-friendly documentation workflows and hybrid scheduling flexibility.
