Responsibilities
- Preoperative Preparation: Ensure the operating room is sterile and properly equipped with instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for the surgical procedure.
- Assisting Surgeons: Pass instruments and materials to surgeons and surgical assistants, anticipating their needs during procedures.
- Instrument Care: Count sponges, needles, and instruments prior to and after surgery to ensure security of the sterile field.
- Patient Care: Assist in positioning patients safely on the operating room table, covering them to maintain warmth and privacy.
- Sterilization: Scrub, gown, and glove, and maintain a sterile technique throughout surgical operations.
- Documentation: Accurately record surgical procedures and equipment usage as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical First Assistant (SFA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a surgical setting (OR experience preferred).
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and adherence to safety protocols and sterile techniques.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute to Scottsdale, AZ.
